What is direct payment and how does it work?

Direct payment is a modern payment method offered via bezahl.de in cooperation with Tink, a BaFin-licensed open banking expert.

It involves a transfer initiated by you via your own online banking. After the transfer order has been placed, the Tink interface receives information about whether the account has sufficient funds and whether the transfer has been successfully received by your bank.

Thanks to this technology, payment confirmation can be made in seconds – around the clock (24/7). This makes it possible for the first time, for example, to pay for a vehicle directly via smartphone upon delivery.

This is how direct payment works:

1. Enter your bank's BIC and IBAN.

2. Log in to online banking with your access data.

3. Check your details and approve the payment using the TAN procedure.

Important tips for smooth processing:

1. Check your transfer or daily limit. You may need to adjust it in advance.

2. Make sure that your account has sufficient funds.

3. Depending on your bank, you may need a TAN generator and your bank card.

4. Check whether third-party payments are approved.
You can activate these settings yourself in your online banking or have them activated by your bank.
